Hello

I’m Julie Anne Maifrini—an artist, photographer, graphic designer, and recreation therapist. Creativity has always been a part of my life, and over the years, art has become a place to slow down, reconnect, and explore the many layers of becoming.

My work is inspired by growth, healing, uncertainty, and the beauty that can emerge from life’s more complicated seasons. Through layers, organic forms, and negative space, I explore what it means to grow through change, begin again, and stay connected to who we are.

My hope is that my work reminds you that every layer of your story has value. That there is beauty in the mess, strength in continuing forward, and possibility in the spaces where we don’t yet know what comes next.

I’m also passionate about creating a sense of collective healing—a space where we can share ideas, experiences, resources, and the things that have helped us along the way. If something has brought you comfort, strength, or perspective, I’d love to hear from you and, with your permission, share it with our community.

Because sometimes, healing begins when we realize we’re not alone.

Where healing becomes art. Art for the journey back to yourself.

Purpose

My work is a journey through layers of becoming—where chaos can quiet, uncertainty can become possibility, and growth can emerge from the breakdown.

Botanical forms echo nature, growth, and blossoming, while negative space represents the unknown and the courage to begin again.

My purpose for my work is a reminder that there is beauty in every layer—and strength in becoming who we are meant to be. To keep going, embrace the uncertainty, and stay true to who you are.

Healing Together

What Has Helped Me
Recommended Reading

I’m not a doctor or professional healer. I’m simply someone who believes in the power of sharing what helps us move through difficult seasons.

There isn’t one way to heal, and what works for one person may not work for another. I believe the important part is finding what brings growth, peace, connection, or a little bit of light.

Things That Helped Me Heal

For me, some of those things have been:

  • Painting

  • Therapy and self-reflection

  • Learning how to be alone

  • Learning about codependency

  • Setting boundaries and learning to choose myself

  • Letting myself actually feel my emotions

  • Self-compassion

  • Connecting with nature

  • Music

  • Journaling

  • Walking

  • Spending time with safe, supportive friends

  • Letting go of what I can’t control

  • Taking things one day at a time

  • Keeping going, even when it was hard

You don’t have to do everything on this list. Find what makes you feel more like yourself. Find what brings you a little light.

Start there.

If there’s something that has helped you along the way—a person, resource, practice, book, idea, or simply something you’ve learned—I’d love to hear about it and, with your permission, share it with the collective.

We don’t have to heal alone.

Spotify Playlist

A collection of empowering songs to make you feel strong, confident, and ready to keep going. I am always adding to it.

I was born in 1979, so yeah… this playlist is all over the place. From old-school favourites to 90s nostalgia, 2000s hits, and newer songs that make you want to turn the volume up.

Songs to play while you paint, walk, drive, get ready, dance, cry, create—or whenever you need a little reminder that you’ve got this.

Sometimes you don’t need advice.

You just need a song that makes you want to turn it up and keep moving.

Press play. Turn it up. Feel strong. Keep going.
